Improving the human condition can come about only by the enlightenment of the human mind. Prairie Fire Journal is about stepping outside the box of convention, embracing a philisophy of free thought devoid of the traditionl left-right pigeon-holing. That doesn't mean I won't call a hog a hog or denounce religious pseudo-intellectualism, but it does mean that I believe that people should be receptive to new ideas that truly improve the human condition without those ideas having to first pass a political litmus test.

One idea that is intolerable is tyranny. Tyranny is supremacy in action, whether it be political, religious, racial, social, or economic in nature. Tyrants cease to exist when the people cease to follow them. Respect for human rights, protecting individual liberty, and upholding the ideal of a free democracy must be the cornerstone on which we build public discourse. Furthermore, we must renounce any ideology that perverts liberty into being a free license to abuse, oppress, or exploit fellow human beings. Nothing less is acceptable. This holds true for America as well as the rest of the world.

That's how we defeat tyranny.
